Dr. Burwell and team strive to make the visit for each child a fun and pleasant experience. The first experience for most children in our practice is with our hygienist for a teeth cleaning or “counting teeth.” This appointment is approximately 20-30 minutes long and is comprised of light cleaning (tooth counting), X-rays if possible, tooth brushing instruction and a ride up and down in the chair. Dr. Burwell does a quick examination and has been known to bring in his juggling balls for a quick show. We finish the appointment with stickers the child can take home and a trip to our toy drawer.
